UNDERSTANDING THE
INVISIBLE MAN:
PSYCHOTHERAPY WITH
MALE CLIENTS

Mark Fromm

Using a wide range of clinical material, music, film, poetry, and self-reflection, this seminar for therapists of both genders will detail the unique challenges and opportunities of working with male clients. Participants will discuss theories addressing male development and gender training, and learn therapeutic principles and strategies unique to working with men.

Time will be provided for participants to explore and ask questions related to their particular experience of working with men in their practice. Participants will leave with a greater understanding of, and appreciation for, the experience of being a man in this culture.

Mark Fromm, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist with a private practice seeing individuals, couples, and families in Oakland and San Francisco. He has been a columnist for Psychology Today magazine and is currently vice president of PsychologyToday.com and executive director of its "Ask Our Therapist" service. He has been an expert consultant to the Board of Psychology and Board of Behavioral Sciences, and is a professor at CIIS and other Bay Area graduate schools.
