Nina Strongylou, MFT, RDT/BCT, graduated
from the CIIS Drama Therapy program in 1989.
She has been employed in several psychiatric
settings, since that time. The program has
been instrumental in enabling her to work
creatively with groups of chronically mentally
ill individuals. She works at Saint Francis
Memorial Hospital, conducting individual
and group therapy. There, she supervises
drama therapy interns and MFT trainees.
Nina was on the board of the National Association
for Drama Therapy (NADT) for six years.
She served as vice president of NADT, was
the editor of its national newsletter, Dramascope,
and chaired NADTs 1998 national conference.
Currently, she chairs the Trainer Review
Committee that approves and certifies drama
therapy trainers.
Nina is a licensed Marriage, and Family
Therapist, a Registered Drama Therapist
and Board Certified Trainer in drama therapy.
In her private practice, she works with
people who are questioning the quality of
their lives or have difficulty keeping up
with lifes demands. Nina believes
that personal therapy makes a difference,
and can change a lonely struggle into a
shared exploration of possibilities and
change. She is also training and supervising
students and clinicians in both verbal and
drama therapy approaches.
