Biography

Sylvia Israel is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 31245), a certified Trainer, Educator and Practitioner of Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy (TEP) and a Registered Drama Therapist, and Board Certified Trainer (RDT/BCT). She is Director of the Bay Area Moreno Institute, Founder of Bay Area Playback Theatre and a Trainer in the Therapeutic Spiral Model of Psychodrama working with trauma survivors. Sylvia maintains a private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area, working with individuals, couples and groups. She also provides psychodrama training and is a trail lawyer consultant. Sylvia is former Officer and Member of the American Board of Exminers of Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy. She earned her MA from the CIIS Drama Therapy Program.
