Ben Huh has always been a start-up guy. His latest company, Cheezburger, has been credited with bringing Internet memes to the mainstream and popularizing Internet culture. Huh founded Cheezburger, in 2007 and grew it into one of the largest blog networks in the world in less than two years, while making a profit during one of the deepest recessions. The success of his business is attributed to his knowledge of memes, viral content, and crowd sourcing.
Huh is not shy about crediting the success of his company to the users and fans and those who started the sites he acquired, such as icanhascheezburger.com and failblog.org. His goal is to make the world happy for five minutes a day. Huh is also the co-founder of the news app Circa, a 2012 start-up that is trying to redefine how the public consumes news. Circa promotes itself as the best way to read the news on your phone. It's news without the fluff, filler, or commentary. Circa's editors gather top stories and break them down to their essential points-facts, quotes, photos, and more, formatted specifically for the phone. Huh graduated with a BSJ from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
