Patti Dobrowolski, M.A. '95, RDT,
is a drama therapist in private practice
who specializes in facilitating drama therapy
in corporate settings. She offers corporate
team building, change management, and coaching
for keynote speakers. Patti also has her
own company in Colorado, "zipmap," which
is a full-service consulting practice utilizing
creative business practices.
Shefali Kumar, M.A., 1996, is the
director of the Gloria Wise Senior Services
Program in Bayside, New York. She is the
former director of therapeutic recreation
at the Center for Elders Independence in
Oakland, California. She has been accepted
into the Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology
at Teachers College, Columbia University.
Julia MacDougal, M.A., RDT, MFT, 1997,
is the co-creator of ALCHEMIA, a nonprofit
organization that holds workshops and stages
performances with marginalized groups, as
well as facilitates collaborations between
developmentally disabled individuals and
high school students.
Susana Pendzik (MA, 97’) now lives in Israel where she is a faculty member at Bar-Ilan University, lecturing also at the University of Jerusalem, the Tel-Hai College Drama Therapy Program, and the Institute for Social Work in Saint Gallen (FHS), Switzerland. Susana has worldwide experience as a group leader, particularly on issues of racism, gender, and culture. She is the founder of the Drama Therapy Centre of Jerusalem, the author of several articles on drama therapy, and a handbook on the application of action methods with battered women.
Douglas Styles (MA, ’93) is the Clinical Director of Youth and Family Enrichment Services, a multi-service not-for-profit agency in San Mateo County. He supervises clinical staff, conducts psychological assessment, provides psychotherapy, and leads the administrative operations of programs serving high-need families. Douglas is licensed as both a psychologist and Marriage and Family Therapist, and is also a Registered Drama Therapist. He received his Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology and is an Adjunct Faculty member of Capella University.
Carrie Todd, M.A. '98, RDT, specializes
in working with at-risk adolescents. She
works as a drama therapist at a residential
treatment facility with adolescents who
are in recovery from drug and alcohol abuse.
Carrie believes drama therapy is especially
appropriate with this population because
it "bypasses power struggles and creatively
engages the issues."
Saun-Toy Trotter, M.A., 2000, is
a psychotherapist in San Francisco's Huckleberry
Youth program where she works with teens
and their families. She is a solo performance
artist who received a "best of"
award from AIRspace 2003 for her work.
