Tina Fields (PhD, ‘01) independently-designed focus at CIIS was on Eco psychology, and she has worked in that emerging field since before graduation. She currently teaches UCSB Wildlands Studies Field Program in Hawaii and also works as core MA faculty in Culture , Ecology, & Sustainable Community at New College’s North Bay Campus. Tina was listed in Who’s Who Among American Women, 2006-07.
Thomas Armstrong, Ph.D. '87, EWP,
who has written numerous books, was recently
featured on a KQED radio talk show on work
and careers. Tom was also on a panel on "Prenatal Communication and Intrauterine
Learning," at the Association for Pre- and
Perinatal Psychology and Health.
Fariba Bogzaran, Ph.D., 1994; M.A.,
1989, teaches arts and consciousness
studies at John F. Kennedy University. She
has conducted research in lucid dreaming
with Stephen LaBerge at the Stanford Sleep
Laboratory. Fariba is also the author of
Through the Light: An Exploration into
Consciousness, and is the co-author
of Extraordinary Dreams and How to Work
with Them.
Frank De Luca, Ph.D., 2001, has
a private practice in San Francisco and
Carmel that offers psychotherapy, coaching,
and organizational development consulting.
He is currently writing an article based
on his doctoral research regarding the psychology
of integrating spiritual and material values.
Thomas T. Smith, Ph.D. '96, is a
consultant and speaker on the subject of
diversity, specializing in advocating for
minorities and women in business settings.
His recent projects include healing and
reconciliation work between Detroit Edison
Energy and its returning employees, who
were wrongfully dismissed for ethnic and
racial discrimination. Tom also facilitates
school board retreats to build a board vision
based on shared values and appreciation
of diversities. Tom says, "The perspective
of East-West psychology gave me the tools
to help groups learn how to increase communication,
foster dialogue, and create effective working
relationships."
Susan Swift, Ph.D., 1999, is a consultant
for the San Francisco International Film
Festival, CNN, and Pixar Animation Studios.
She writes book reviews for Film Quarterly
and is working on a book about gender and
mythology in film.
Mary B. Trouba, Ph.D., 2002, is
a managing consultant and regional coordinator
for The Gallup Organization in San Francisco.
Her dissertation was entitled "A Jungian
Examination of Images of the Divine and
the Demonic in Contemporary Science Fiction
Television Series."
Roxana Wales, Ph.D., 1994, brings
an ethnographic perspective to research
and software development as a team member
of the Human-Centered Computing group at
the NASA Ames Research Center.
