On the Priestess Path:
A Personal Journey Through
Ritual, Research and Community Service

by Dianne Miller

Maenad with drum in Bacchic ProcessionMore women have assumed the role of spiritual leaders as a result of the emergence of the Women's Spirituality Movement. This is particularly true in the non-traditional practices of feminist Witchcraft. Dianne's work integrates academic research with experiential components and community service. From research on the historical role of priestess, to documenting the expression of that role by contemporary feminists, it culminates in personal exploration and interpretation of the role of priestess through a series of community events which Dianne facilitated. These events include a seasonal public ritual, community drumming circles, an evening of group singing and chanting, and an introductory class in feminist Witchcraft.
