Language Proficiency (non-credit)
Proficiency in a foreign language may be demonstrated by having passed two years of college coursework, or by achieving a satisfactory score on the ETS Foreign Language Reading exam. Additional language study may be required depending on chosen dissertation topic.

consultation with one’s dissertation committee: the Chair and members).

*Students admitted with an M.A. in a field other than Humanities, Philosophy, Religion, Women’s Studies, or Women’s Spirituality may need to take up to 18 supplemental units from the Women’s Spirituality M.A. curriculum, minus equivalent courses taken elsewhere.

Flexible Format
 
Courses are offered through flexible formats, including weekday courses, weekend courses, online distance learning (up to 17 units), and summer intensives.

Women's Spirituality Educational Study Tours Abroad

The Women's Spirituality curriculum is augmented by educational study tours called Women's Spirituality Journeys. These tours provide students with fieldwork opportunities in Sicily, Spain, and Italy with Lucia Chiavola Birnbaum; in the Florida Keys with Arisika Razak; in Greece and Crete, with Carol P. Christ; and in Malta with Jennifer Berezan and Joan Marler.
