Students in CIIS's Clinical Psychology
program have a history of achievement within the
field of clinical psychology and beyond. Most
graduates become successful clinicians. Others
have used their training to become organizational
consultants, educators, or administrators. Among
alumni are:
Cassi Vieten, Ph.D., 1998, is director
of clinical genetics at the Gallo Clinic and Research
Center at the University of California, San Francisco.
She works on the genetics of alcoholism as part
of the UCSF Family Study. The focus of her original
research is emotion regulation and alcoholism.
Susan Corcoran Christy, Ph.D., 1994, is
a CIIS trustee. She is a consultant and trainer
whose clients include major corporations, colleges,
universities, and nonprofit organizations. As
a professional speaker and TV talk-show host,
she speaks about psychology, business, team building,
and empowerment.
Michael Riera, Ph.D., 1993, is dean of
students at Marin Academy in California. His books
include: Uncommon Sense for Parents with Teenagers,
Surviving High School, and The Complete
Idiot's Guide to a Well-Behaved Child. Some

Faith A. Robinson, Ph.D., 1994, received
the 1999 Monterey County (Calif.) Psychologist
of the Year award from Consumer Business Review.
Her most recent publication is "Disassociative
Women's Experiences of Self-Cutting" in Phenomenological
Inquiry in Psychology.
