Pursuing a Passion for Lifelong Learning
Here's a sampling of Bachelor of Arts Completion program alumni and a glimpse into the varied and fascinating work they pursued after graduation:
Margaret J. Baier, B.A., '01, owns a small
private massage practice and is working as the
therapeutic massage program coordinator at National
American University in Minnesota. She also is
working on completing her master's degree in Liberal
Studies at the University of Minnesota.
Deanna McKinstry, B.A., '99, earned a
master's degree in Mythological Studies and Depth
Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute in 2001.
She is currently working on her dissertation at
Pacifica entitled Singing as Mythic History.
Kai-Lin Yang, B.A., '02, is pursuing a
master's degree in Integral Counseling Psychology
at CIIS.
Yasmin Decuire, B.A., '03, is a full-time
mother in addition to pursuing a master's degree
in Expressive Arts Therapy at CIIS.
Ruth Turner, B.A., '03, works for the
Miriam and Peter Haas Fund, a San Francisco-based
family foundation focusing on early childhood
education. She is also completing a child development
certificate in administration and will enter the
master's degree program in Culture and Spirituality
at Holy Names College in Oakland, California.
Ruth is the mother of two and grandmother of four.
Thomas Marconi, B.A., '97, has a master's
degree in Philosophy and Religion from CIIS, and
is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Humanities
at the Institute.
Cay Lemon, B.A., '03, is a wedding consultant
who owns an events and wedding planning company.
She applies her commitment to ecological and environmental
issues in her business by working mainly with
caterers who use organic products or locally grown
produce.
