Unrestricted Support
Unrestricted support, also known as the Annual Fund, is the cornerstone of CIIS's giving program. It consists of the collective unrestricted gifts to CIIS from alumni, trustees, faculty, staff, friends, as well as foundations, businesses, and corporations. The Institute relies on these contributions to help cover its operating expenses and to ensure its financial stability and continued academic excellence.
Scholarships
CIIS currently spends 5-6 percent of its operating budget on scholarships and intends to increase the total amount of scholarships awarded significantly each year. Your gift for scholarships will help ensure that dedicated students with financial need are able to pursue and complete their educations in order to serve the needs of our world. With a gift of $10,000 or above, payable over a number of years, you can establish a named and endowed scholarship at the Institute.
Counseling Centers
The Counseling Centers of CIIS serve as training facilities for master's degree and doctoral students in the School of Professional Psychology. Each year, hundreds of clients visit the six counseling centers for safe, supportive, and low-cost psychotherapy. Your gift will provide fee support for low-income clients and well as help the counseling centers operate more efficiently through infrastructure improvements. The Haridas and Bina Chaudhuri Endowment
The Haridas and Bina Chaudhuri Endowment for South Asian Philosophy and Culture Endowment was named in honor of CIIS's co-founders, Dr. Haridas Chaudhuri and his wife Bina Chaudhuri. The purpose of the Chaudhuri Endowment is to bring scholars, artists and political figures to the Institute and greater Bay Area to deepen understanding of India's rich history, philosophy, culture, and spiritual legacy. In addition, the Chaudhuri Endowment supports Indian students wishing to study at CIIS and CIIS students wishing to study in India.
