Baxter Bell, MD, eRYT500 wears the hats of medical doctor, medical acupuncturist, yoga instructor and educator. These varying perspectives gives him a unique view of yoga's value for our health, both physical and mental. He is director of teacher training at the Piedmont Yoga Studio in Oakland, CA, and is on faculty for many training programs around the country.

Yoga Posture Practice: Medical and Psychological Benefits of Yoga

In this one hour session, you will have an opportunity to get out of your head and into your body by experiencing some basic yoga poses that have applications for those dealing with medical and psychological conditions or work with those that do. More and more research is demonstrating the benefits of yoga practices for a wide range of conditions, from heart disease to depression. As we explore the yoga asana, Baxter will share some of the science behind yoga's benefits.
