Embodying Shakti: Awakening Sacred Power in Your Body, Mind, and Sound with Sally Kempton & Silvia Nakkach

In this highly practical workshop, two powerful teachers reveal core sacred technologies from the tantric traditions of goddess wisdom. We'll work with myth, sound, meditation, and other practices that strengthen your physical and subtle bodies, dissolving energetic blocks and opening your capacity for flow. In the course of this weekend you'll also have the opportunity to discover your personal energetic connections to goddesses such as Saraswati (sacred inspiration and flow), Durga (warrior strength), Lalita (fully empowered sacred sexuality), and Chinnamasta (pure awareness).

Sally Kempton has been studying and teaching the wisdom of yoga for 45 years. A highly regard teacher of meditation and spiritual philosophy, she writes the popular Yoga Journal column "Wisdom." She teaches retreats, teleclasses, and workshops internationally. Known for her gift of making yogic wisdom relevant to daily life and transmitting deep states of meditation, she is the author of Meditation for the Love of It and Awakening Shakti, both published by Sounds True.

Silvia Nakkach, MA, MMT, is the coordinator and lead instructor of CIIS Public Programs & Performances Sound, Voice, and Music Healing Certificate program. A pioneer in the field of sound and transformation of consciousness, she is an award-winning composer and a former psychotherapist. She is the founder and artistic director of Vox Mundi School of the Voice and author of Free Your Voice (Sounds True)

Women's Spirituality

The Women's Spirituality program is located at the intersection of Women/Gender Studies, Ethnic Studies, Philosophy, and Religion. Our program honors the spiritual impulse to redress the suppression of the sacred feminine and the oppression of women. We join with those who seek to end the exploitation of marginalized social groups and address the suffering of the Earth and its many species. Our faculty is internationally known and includes many pioneers in the interdisciplinary field of Women’s Spirituality.
