Become a Vessel for Love and Light through Naad Yoga with Snatam Kaur

Naad yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan is a practice that incorporates sacred chant with breath, posture, and movement. Core to this experience is the technique of the recitation of mantra, "man" meaning mind, and "tra" meaning projection. In this workshop, Snatam Kaur will teach one mantra from this tradition, and convey the diamond-faceted experience of what it means to really hold a mantra in your being in order to experience deep healing. Snatam Kaur will teach the meaning of the mantra, how mantras come to this planet, and how the vibrations of mantras work to heal us on a physical, mental, and spiritual level. She will share kundalini yoga sets to prepare the body for this sacred experience, meditations to open the mind for the flow of spirit, in addition to lifestyle habits and techniques that allow the human body to become a vessel for the manifestation of love and light on this planet.

Snatam Kaur is a musician and peace activist who has taught and shared naad yoga through her recorded CDs, concerts, and workshops for the past fifteen years. For thirty years, she studied with and grew up at the feet of her master, Yogi Bhajan, while he was in his physical form. At the core of this practice is an essential experience of love and light which has made it accessible to people of all walks of life to receive its healing effects. Her music can be heard around the world in venues from yoga studios to Hollywood films. She has been featured in O, The Oprah Magazine, and she performed for Oprah Winfrey in Maui. Kaur's albums have consistently ranked in the top 20 in both Indie New Age and Indie World Music on Amazon. Her father was a manager for the Grateful Dead, and she has an amazing ability to transform traditional chants into a contemporary sound that appeals to the modern ear while awakening ancient yearnings in the soul.

Philosophy Cosmology and Consciousness Program

Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness (PCC) graduate programs are dedicated to re-imagining the human species as a mutually enhancing member of the Earth community. They attract intellectually engaged individuals who are in varying degrees dismayed by what they see happening in industrial societies and who are striving to find meaningful ways to develop their gifts to serve the future of the world. We support those called to meet the Earth community's unprecedented evolutionary challenge by offering students a challenging and supportive learning community in which to find their voice and vision as leaders.
