Jennifer (Jen) Murray has been working in LGBT+ work in Higher Education settings since 2004. She currently serves as the Director of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) Resource Center. Prior to assuming the role of Director in September 2007, she worked as the Assistant Director for the UWM LGBT Resource Center.
As Co-Chair of the UWM Chancellor's Advisory Committee for LGBT+ Advocacy and a leader of the UWM LGBT Resource Center she engages in learning as well as sharing about LGBT+ identities, people, communities and experiences. Using the framework and lens of her lived experience with the Social Justice Training Institute (SJTI) she participates in advocacy, facilitation of trainings and policy development intentionally focused on inclusion with an attention to interconnected nature of identities. She is in the last year of her second term (2 years) with the Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals Executive Board where she serves as Recorder. Prior to her time in higher education Jen served in the United States Peace Corps as a Community Health volunteer dedicated to sustainable change possibilities within international development work.

Join members of the Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals for a half day pre-conference meeting on the afternoon of Monday, June 23rd, before we kick off the summer institute. Open to anyone strategizing to create new LGBT services on campus, or those who are striving to improve their current programs and centers. You are invited to join current professionals working in campus LGBT resource centers as we explore best practices for launching, maintaining, and improving campus LGBT services.
