WHO SHOULD APPLY?
The Certificate program is designed for anyone who has a strong interest in learning about the transformative and healing powers of sound, including health care professionals, psychologists, clinicians, educators, musicians, singers, sound healers, music therapists, yoga practitioners, body workers, and spiritual seekers. No previous experience in sound healing or in any of the aforementioned fields is required in order to apply.
CIIS' Sound, Voice, and Music in the Healing Arts Certificate program offers a combination of weekday evening and weekend intensives throughout the academic year, making it especially appealing to working professionals and adult learners. Students must be willing to commit to the Certificate's time requirement, which includes 200 class hours and special projects over the course of ten months.
This certificate program is open to U.S. citizens, permanent residents and international persons who are in the U.S. in a valid nonimmigrant visa status who are eligible to take courses at CIIS under that status.
*CIIS Public Programs Certificate Programs do not qualify for the F-1 student visa.
The deadline to turn in your Application Form, admission essay, and deposit payment is Friday, September 11, 2015
No previous experience in sound healing is required in order to apply to this program. However, we do require an admissions essay to determine acceptance into the program. In a short essay, briefly describe your background, why you are interested in the Sound, Voice, and Music Healing certificate program, and what you hope to gain through your participation. Essays should be one to two pages typed, double-spaced, and submitted with your Application Form to firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications will not be considered without deposit.

Registration Deposit: $500
Total Cost: $3,750
PAYMENT AND CANCELATION POLICIES
A deposit of $500 is due at the time of application. If you are not accepted, this fee will be refunded minus a $50 processing fee. Should you wish to cancel after the payment of the initial deposit, an amount of $250 will be deducted from your refund. After payment of the initial deposit of $500, payment of the remaining balance of $3,250 must be received by Monday, September 21, 2015, to secure your space in the program. An installment payment schedule is available on a limited basis for those who can show financial need. Please contact our office at 415.575.6175 for details.
If a student withdraws before Monday, September 28, 2015, twenty-five percent of the full fee ($937.50) will be due. If a student withdraws before Monday, October 26, 2015, fifty percent of the full fee ($1,875) will be due. The full fee of $3,750 is due if a student withdraws after Monday, October 26, 2015.
Refunds Granted after Refund Deadlines-Financial Petition Process
Students who believe they have extenuating circumstances warranting a credit, refund, or adjustment of the program cost may present a petition to Laura Reddick, Program Manager of Public Programs & Performances. The petition must include an explanation of this circumstance along with supporting documentation-this documentation becomes the property of CIIS and will not be returned. The petition must be submitted within 90 calendar days of the last day of the program.
GUIDELINES FOR WANG SCHOLARSHIP
A limited number of $500 scholarship awards are available. To apply, please send a 1-2 page statement indicating what your financial situation is and why you need assistance. The statement is due by Wednesday, August 19, 2015. Recipients will be notified by Tuesday, September 1, 2015. You may submit your statement along with your Application Form.
