Professor Robert McDermott Has Contributed to Two New BooksNov 17 2009

Robert McDermott has contributed to two newly released books, "The New Essential Steiner: An Introduction to Rudolf Steiner for the 21st Century" and "The Bhagavad Gita and the West: The Esoteric Significance of the Bhagavad Gita and its Relation to the Epistles of Paul."

"The New Essential Steiner" presents a broad overview of Anthroposophy and includes an extensive introduction written by McDermott. In his introduction, McDermott recounts Steiner's life and work, from his childhood and education to his work as a natural scientist, philosopher, scholar, educator, artist, interpreter of culture, and seer. McDermott places Steiner in relation to major traditions of thought and explores the genesis and development of Anthroposophy.

For "The Bhagavad Gita and the West" McDermott wrote a 70-page introduction and comprehensive notes, followed by 14 lectures by Rudolf Steiner on the Bhagavad Gita. The book also includes a complete translation of the Bhagavad Gita by Eknath Easwaran.
