ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Essence Dance is a way of contemplative movement exploration, drawing from sacred technology and mystical traditions. The natural wisdom of the body lies within the science of movement. Awareness guides the way we do things. When the body is loosened in simple ways, a deeper region of heart awareness comes alive. With the use of sound through voice, devotion is invited as a guest speaker in this treasure house, revealing the map of the unknown.
If you are a person who wants to move freely, this is an invitation to move through the body house with the guidance of the brilliant intelligence in the body. Wear comfortable clothes, suitable for movement. No experience is necessary, only a willingness to enter into the spirit of creativity.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Zuleikha is an international teacher and performer of movement and rhythmic language, inspiring awareness of body and health. Trained with master teachers in many world lineages, Zuleikha has created a unique language of rhythmic movement. She performs a one-woman concert; and she collaborates on events with world-renowned musicians and poets, including the Rumi Concert with author Coleman Barks, cellist David Darling, and percussionist Glen Velez. Founder and director of The Storydancer Project, Zuleikha is the recipient of the Humanitarian Award from Pediatric Nursing Journal for her work with women and children around the world. www.storydancer.com
