ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Drawing on the tradition of the sacred marriage in Hinduism, Sufism, Buddhism, and Christianity, Andrew Harvey will present his vision of what he calls evolutionary mysticism. Evolutionary mysticism enables and makes possible the birth of the divine in matter, in the body, and in sacredly inspired action. He will introduce five major practices from different traditions including Tonglen from TIbetan Buddhism, metta from Theravada Buddhism, a chakra meditation from the Hindu tradition, and sacred heart meditations from both the Sufi and the Christian traditions. He will help all those who attend to experience the great joy of the sacred marriage and root their inner and outer lives in its passion, peace, and power.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Andrew Harvey was born in South India in 1952. He has forged a vision of what he calls sacred activism, a fusion of mystical passion and wisdom with wise radical action. His new book, The Hope: A Guide to Sacred Activism, was released in September 2009.
