The Call to Spiritual Experience: An Introduction to Traditional Kundalini Science with Joan Shivarpita Harrigan

Oct 16 2010 - Oct 17 2010

Joan Harrigan

Kundalini vidya is the ancient science of understanding and facilitating spiritual development. An exquisite and practical system based in scripture and traditional teachings, it explains the spiritual journey. Kundalini vidya demystifies mysticism by offering precise explanations that clarify spiritual experience and practice. By providing a description of subtle body physiology, it reveals the causes and variations of non-ordinary experiences and enables the seeker to understand blocks to progress. These spiritual practices allow the seeker to align with the inner spiritual director, called kundalini shakti in the Vedic tradition. This divine light, love, and life within ultimately leads to the culmination of the spiritual endeavor, awareness of union with the One.

Joan Shivarpita Harrigan, PhD, is a brahmacharini in the tradition of the philosopher Adi Shankara. She was initiated as the designated successor of Swami Chandrasekharanand Saraswati in a lineage of kundalini specialists with a five-hundred-year tradition. She has studied and taught yoga/vedanta teachings and practices for more than thirty years and has trained in kundalini vidya for more than twenty years. She directs Patanjali Kundalini Yoga Care, a spiritual direction service, and is author of Kundalini Vidya: The Science of Spiritual Transformation. Harrigan is also a psychologist in private practice with a specialty in spiritual issues. www.KundaliniCare.com.
