Author, Social Critic, and Former TLD Professor Philip Slater Has DiedPosted on Jun 27 2013
Yesterday's San Francisco Chronicle has an obituary for Philip Slater — author, social critic, entheogen pioneer, and former professor in CIIS' Transformative Leadership program.
Slater, who lived in Santa Cruz, was the author of the classic sociology bestseller "The Pursuit of Loneliness." His most recent book, showcased in the March-April 2013 issue of Harvard Magazine, is "The Chrysalis Effect: The Metamorphosis of Global Culture." According to the Chronicle, Slater wrote 11 other books of sociology and social commentary, as well as 25 novels and plays.
