There is one Commencement ceremony each academic year.
All students who have successfully completed their degree requirements by the end of the spring semester are invited to participate in the Commencement ceremony.
2014 CIIS COMMENCEMENT
Sunday, May 18, 2014
Ceremony at 2:00 pm
275 Hayes Street, San Francisco
The Dean of Students Office emails information about Commencement to all students who have filed the graduation application with the Office of the Registrar, or who have already had their degree conferred in the current school year.
This email is sent out early in the spring semester and contains information about the Commencement ceremony, including the date, time, and location; and about ordering invitations, caps, gowns, and hoods.
Students who are anticipating participation in the ceremony should ensure that their contact information on file with the Registrar's Office is correct and up-to-date.
Due to the Bay to Breakers city-wide footrace taking place on May 18, finding street parking on Commencement day will be especially difficult.
We strongly encourage graduates and guests to use public transportation to travel to the Nourse Theater on the day of Commencement.
You may plan your trip via BART, MUNI and/or Golden Gate Transit by visiting 511.org. Please keep in mind that public transit will probably take longer than usual on this day, and budget extra time into your travel schedule to arrive on time.
If using public transportation will not be possible for you or someone you have invited, we suggest that you consult the Bay to Breakers website as well as the list of road closures that they have provided. You can also call a Bay to Breakers information representative at (415) 231-3130 to talk to someone about your planned route. They are also available via email at email@example.com.
