International Education Week 2011 at CIIS

The week of November 14-18 is International Education Week (IEW), an annual event at CIIS and around the nation. IEW is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education and is part of our efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States.

Our intention is for the CIIS International Education Week to foster a greater sense of a global and diverse community on campus; encourage a greater awareness of other peoples, other cultures, world affairs, and their influence on all of our lives. We wish to inspire an even stronger commitment among students, faculty, and staff to becoming more globally educated; promote and integrate various ways of knowing and being in the world; and deepen the meaning of integral education.

All events during IEW are free and open to students, alumni, staff, faculty and all friends of CIIS. We hope you’ll join us for some of these outstanding events and academic presentations.

Please check back to this page of the CIIS website periodically for updates to the IEW calendar.

Landscapes, Soulscapes, and everything In-between:
The Intimacy of the Earth - Human Dance

Friday, November 18th
10AM- 3PM
Room 550
Contact: adrianvg7@gmail.com

ALL ARE WELCOME!

The inner landscape of humanity may show a deeper resonance with the surrounding landscapes than we have previously imagined.

Come join a host of CIIS faculty, students, and guests, explore, from a variety of viewpoints, our multileveled connection to the natural world and shed light to the Earth - Human dance.

Not only is our being nourished by the landscapes around us, but the most exalted capabilities of the human soul may spring from the rhythms of nature. Imagining, dreaming, tending, healing, breathing-these are some of the subtle, yet evocative ways in which the human landscape summons its alliance with the Earth.
