Health Insurance

California Institute of Integral Studies wishes to assist students in reaching their optimum mental, physical, social, and spiritual wellness. The Dean of Students Office offers resources for students, including a CIIS-endorsed student insurance plan through Kaiser Permanente student insurance.

The CIIS-endorsed student health plan is a voluntary plan and paid for by the student directly to the insurance broker via online enrollment. An estimated amount of health care costs are already considered in the Financial Aid Office's Cost of Attendance estimates under 'personal expenses'.

It is CIIS policy that all international students studying in the U.S. on an F-1 student visa enroll in the CIIS-endorsed health plan and maintain health insurance throughout the duration of their program. International students may waive enrollment in the UHCSR plan by providing the International Student Advisor with proof of comparable coverage in English.
