Internships

Nationally Recognized Internship

For the past decade, the program has developed significant service-learning internships. Because our students are prepared to approach questions from multiple perspectives and employ an integral philosophy of health and healing, they are highly sought within internship placement sites. CIIS interns have helped low-income women with cancer access complementary healing arts, brought sound healing to a rehabilitation center, and helped to develop integrative health websites. The 200-hour internship allows students to anchor knowledge and skills in real-world settings.

Internships support the development of the students' professional skills, and many students have converted internships into job offers. Alumni have also opened the doors for additional internship opportunities at three Bay Area sites.

Students complete an organizational assessment of the internship in the Integrative Seminar Final Project.

Our program has a long-standing relationship with the following sites. Students may also propose an internship at a new site.
