Nationally Recognized Internship
For the past decade, the program has developed significant service-learning internships with sites throughout the Bay Area and the nation. Because our students are prepared to approach questions from multiple perspectives and employ an integral philosophy of health and healing, they are highly sought within internship placement sites. CIIS interns have helped low-income women with cancer access complementary healing arts, brought sound healing to a rehabilitation center, and helped to develop integrative health websites.
Students have opportunities within the 200-hour internship to anchor knowledge and skills in real-world settings. At the successful completion of the two-year curriculum, you will be able to design and implement integrative health programs for individuals, groups, corporations and non-profit organizations. If you are interested in helping others achieve good health, you will be equipped with the knowledge and critical inquiry skills to address the personal, social, spiritual, and environmental factors involved in contemporary health and healing.
While the internships support the development of the student's professional skills, many students have managed to receive job offers from IHL internships. Alumni have also opened the doors for additional IHL internship opportunities at three Bay Area sites.
The organizational assessment of the internship site is included in the Integrative Seminar Final Project.
