How to Use the Supervision Hour with Darron Santin, MFT

About the Presentation

Sometimes, because supervisees are unsure about what it means, they take a too passive role in supervision. This may be due to fear of being criticized or of being competent; hesitation to let another into their world with clients; uncertainty about whether the supervision can be therapeutic; or lack of preparation for the next step of their journey.

Your experience in supervision can provide the foundation for your career. How do you choose a supervisor? How can you make every hour count? How can you show what you know and what you don’t know? What do you need in supervision, and how can you get it?

About the Presenter

Derron Santin, MFT, is a marriage and family therapist who works in San Francisco. Derron’s passions include working with couples; helping clients develop workable relationships to their defenses so that they may begin choosing to live liberated, vibrant lives; seeing the moment for what it is and holds; the unconscious; and working in the dynamic universe of erotic transference and countertransference dynamics.

Integral Counseling Psychology Master's Program

The Integral Counseling Psychology (ICP) program is one of five distinct master's in counseling psychology programs at CIIS. ICP was the first East-West, transpersonal psychology graduate program in the world. Transpersonal psychology is a framework in which Western schools of psychology are synthesized with the world's spiritual traditions. We view psychological healing and growth within the larger context of spiritual unfolding.
