Alum of Expressive Arts Therapy

Maia Huang MFT, REAT (2004) has been a psychotherapist since 2003 and has worked in the helping professions for the past nineteen years as a counselor and community advocate. She is the founder of Healing Arts Psychotherapy and she specializes in working with individuals, couples, and groups from diverse backgrounds and lifestyles.  Some highlights of populations she has served and continues to provide therapeutic services for include:

~ Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender/Queer/Questioning/Intersex Communities
~ Immigrants and Clients from Ethnically Diverse Backgrounds
~ Patients with Chronic Pain or Terminal Illnesses such as AIDS/HIV
~ Same-Sex and Straight Couples
~ Polyamorous Groups
~ Clients with Addictions

In addition to holistic psychotherapy, her interests in guided imagery and the arts sets the stage for a creative space of healing. Her approach is compassionate, warm, and supportive, helping people to feel comfortable being themselves. She aims to gently ask the difficult questions required to move people past the places they get stuck, and ultimately help them find a space of self-acceptance and healing.
