Alum of Expressive Arts Therapy
Ali Joy Sideroff MA, MFTI (2009), has worked in the field of social services for ten years. She received undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Gender Studies with an emphasis in social justice issues and her previous areas of experience include natural health, yoga, research, marketing, education, and program development in the areas of domestic violence, LGBTQQI communities and other underserved and marginalized populations.
Ali provides therapy to individual clients and couples of diverse ages and backgrounds in San Francisco through New Perspectives Center for Counseling. Her practice is an eclectic mix of depth-oriented approaches and solution focused techniques, incorporating mindfulness and expressive arts within a humanistic paradigm.
Ali also counsels students at El Cerrito High School's James Morehouse Project, a student center that provides comprehensive services to support the emotional well being, physical health, academic needs, and multidisciplinary expression of their students.
Other areas that inform Ali's practice include ecopsychology, ethnobotany, non-violent communication, somatic psychology, multiculturalism and spiritual psychology.
