Biography
Brian Thomas Swimme did his doctoral work in gravitational dynamics in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Oregon. As a professor in the Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness program at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, he teaches evolutionary cosmology to graduate students in the humanities. Currently he is Director of the Third Story of the Universe at Human Energy, a nonprofit public benefit organization. With Monica DeRaspe-Bolles and Devin O'Dea, he created "The Story of the Noosphere," a 32-part YouTube series. With Mary Evelyn Tucker, he is co-author of the film and book, Journey of the Universe. His most recent book is Cosmogenesis: An Unveiling of the Expanding Universe.
