George R. Moscone Scholarships
Since November 2011, the Bachelor of Arts Completion program awards the George R. Moscone scholarship of $3600 to public employees of the City and County of San Francisco who complete their Bachelor's degree at CIIS. The George R. Moscone scholarship is named in memory of George R. Moscone, who served as mayor of San Francisco and majority leader of the California State Senate. Moscone was assassinated at the same time as Harvey Milk.
Meet one of the George R. Moscone scholarship recipients, Luis Aroche - as profiled in CIIS Today, the community newsletter of CIIS, in fall 2012.
