Interim Student Affairs Manager

OVERVIEW

The Student Affairs Manager is a key position in the Student Affairs Office responsible for providing general information and support to students in all aspects of student life at CIIS. The Student Affairs Manager serves as the designee for the Director in his/her absence. Specific responsibilities include: managing new student general orientations; student disability services; updating of the student handbook; coordinating the student satisfaction survey; managing the commencement process; supervising student workers; overseeing the operations of the Student Affairs Office; point of contact for most student inquiries.

  • Some counseling skills essential to mediate conflict, problem-solve, and respond appropriately to student concerns and community needs
  • Above average proficiency with all Microsoft Office Suite products and web based applications

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides assistance and direction to "drop-in" students for general student service issues such as campus group advising, housing resources, health insurance, and other questions about student life.
  • Coordinates Student Affairs Office activities including New Student Orientation, Commencement, and updating the Student Handbook
  • Collects, analyzes and reports on effectiveness of Student Services via annual Student Satisfaction Survey.
  • Manages Student Disability Services, including: conducting intake interviews, providing recommendations and/or implementing assistive technology software programs and equipment, maintaining confidential medical records and student case files, hiring and working with a technology coach and disability services tutor, and communicating with CIIS faculty about the accommodations process.
  • Regularly reviews, edits, and updates the Student Affairs sections of the internal student portal website (my.ciis.edu) and the CIIS public website (www.ciis.edu).
  • Manages front office operations and supervises student workers.
  • Serves as the designee for the Director of Student Affairs in his/her absence.
  • Supports campus student groups by assisting students with organizational, developmental, and logistical needs.
  • Collaborates with other campus constituents to develop workshops and community building events for students.
  • Serves on Institute-wide committees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters Degree preferred
  • Experience in higher education and student services
  • Resonance with mission and degree programs at CIIS

SALARY

This is a full-time position with a salary DOE
