CIIS works in partnership with many organizations and institutions in the Bay Area, throughout the United States, and abroad. From conferences and events to academic resources and initiatives, diverse relationships connect CIIS to several communities.
American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM)
Since 1980, the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine has provided affordable, quality health care to the public and trained professionals in acupuncture and Chinese medicine. CIIS is working in collaboration with ACTCM to develop public programs and cross-trainings with our students.
Asian Art Museum of San Francisco
CIIS offers special events and lectures in collaboration with the museum.
Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U)
CIIS is a member of AAC&U and co-sponsors programs such as a conference on Spirituality in Higher Education.
Auroville is the universal township in India that, like CIIS, was founded on the integral vision of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. The Institute and Auroville have collaborated on several projects, including an alumni and friends travel tour to Auroville.
CIIS is granting the Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for this important annual conference/gathering.
Cultural Integration Fellowship
Founded in 1951 by Dr. Haridas and Bina Chaudhuri, the Cultural Integration Fellowship is a non-profit, non-sectarian, religious, cultural, and educational organization devoted to the concepts of universal religion, cultural harmony, and creative self-unfoldment.
CIIS has been a partner with Fetzer on a number of projects, especially those exploring spirituality in higher education.
Gaiafield Center for Subtle Activism
The Gaiafield Center for Subtle Activism (GCSA) is an action research center and networking hub. The GCSA's mission is to advance the study and practice of subtle activism. Subtle activism is an activity of consciousness or spirit, such as prayer, meditation, or ecstatic dance, intended to support collective healing and social change.
Graduate Theological Union Summer Session
The Graduate Theological Union Summer Session (GTUSS) in Berkeley, California, provides continuing theological education for professional development and spiritual growth. CIIS and the GTUSS have co-sponsored a daylong conference on the Dark Mother and the Divine Feminine that brought together a wide range of theologians, writers, scholars, activists, performers, and musicians.
Institue of International Education
Founded in 1919, the Institute of International Education® (IIE) is a private nonprofit leader in the international exchange of people and ideas. In collaboration with governments, foundations and other sponsors, IIE creates programs of study and training for students, educators and professionals from all sectors.
Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS)
CIIS collaborates with IONS on producing special events and on bringing speakers and workshops to both IONS and CIIS.
International HAU Network of Ethnographic Theory
The Anthropology and Social Change department (ANTH) at CIIS has recently become a part of the International HAU Network of Ethnographic Theory. This is an international network of leading anthropology departments and research centers involved in producing ethnographically grounded theory. As a participating institution, ANTH is invited to collaborate in editing one of the signature journals in contemporary anthropology: HAU (the gift). The ANTH department is also invited to sponsor and co-organize HAU conferences, master classes, visiting fellowships between member institutions, work-in-progress seminars, and workshops based on ethnographic theory.
Journal of Transpersonal Research
An international scholarly journal on the investigation of transpersonal psychology, psychotherapy and related disciplines with the possibility of publishing in English and Spanish language.
Kosmos is the leading international journal for planetary citizens committed to the birth and emergence of a new planetary culture and civilization. Articles address diverse cultural values; new spirituality; global activism; and global political, economic, and social institutions.
National Association of School Personnel Administrators (NASPA)
CIIS has co-sponsored programs with NASPA including a conference on Spirituality in Higher Education.
Open Secret Bookstore
CIIS has co-sponsored with the Open Secret Bookstore a Lifelong Learning concert event with Deva Premal and Miten.
St. Anthony Foundation
CIIS counseling psychology graduate students staff the mental health training program and practicum for St. Anthony's, making psychotherapy available to the poor and homeless people the foundation serves.
7th Heaven Yoga
With 7th Heaven Yoga, CIIS co-sponsors courses in CIIS's Certificate in Integrated Yoga Studies program, as well as events that promote creativity as spiritual practice.
Sustainable World Coalition
The Sustainable World Coalition is a gathering of individuals and supporting organizations who work toward a world that is environmentally sustainable, socially just, and spiritually fulfilling. CIIS has co-sponsored a symposium and festival with them.
Anna Halprin and Daria Halprin work with CIIS Public Programs & Performances on presenting workshops and events around movement-based Expressive Arts Therapy, and on increasing awareness of the body-mind-artistic connection.
United Religions Initiative (URI)
Together with URI, CIIS co-sponsors programs that advance interfaith dialogue.
UCLA Higher Education Research Institute/Spirituality in Higher Education (HERI)
CIIS has been in a collaborative relationship with HERI including co-presenting programs at higher education conferences.
The Yoga Loft
CIIS co-sponsors courses with the Yoga Loft for the Certificate in Integrated Yoga Studies.
Located in the historical and picturesque city of Hangzhou, Zhejiang University is a prestigious institution of higher education. Since 2013, CIIS has collaborated with the School of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences provided webinar information sessions for undergraduate psychology students, receiving a Summer Institute delegate at the CIIS campus and hosting a visiting scholar through 2016.
